Centered around the idea that this pop-culture-loving gecko can't help but insert himself into the center of every joke, our shitpost-filled campaign was filled with references to everyone's favorite moments since his "disappearance" following GEX 3 in 1999, driving tons of wishlists the whole way!
The core of this campaign also allowed us to be agile and "trendjack," inserting Gex into the trends of the day when the moment called for it!
In addition, we reached fans through traditional methods like gameplay gifs, trailer drops with partners at IGN Live, influencer collabs with Mega64 and Scott the Woz, and targeted email blasts that hit our most dedicated gecko lovers' inboxes faster than you can say "tail time!"
With over 60,000 wishlists in four months, this was the most successful pre-release campaign in the company's history!
